Sean Dore

Sean Dore is a seasoned trial attorney with over 25 years of courtroom experience representing clients across Illinois and Florida. Recognized by The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100, Sean has built his career on relentless trial advocacy, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to achieving meaningful outcomes for his clients.
Before practicing law, Sean served as a police officer and SWAT team member, gaining firsthand experience in investigations, crisis response, and courtroom dynamics. These years of service instilled in him a unique ability to analyze complex situations, anticipate challenges, and fight decisively on behalf of his clients. He holds a finance degree (minor in music) from Loyola University Chicago and earned his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law.
At Duffin & Dore, Sean focuses his practice on serious personal injury, wrongful death, insurance disputes, civil litigation, and family law. He is widely known for his client-first approach, often telling clients: “I want my clients to feel protected and safe. Sean is licensed to practice in Illinois, Florida, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is also an active member of respected legal organizations, including the Inns of Court and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.

Family Life: Proud father of four, balancing the demands of a busy trial practice with meaningful time spent with family.
Hobbies: A passionate musician who plays drums in a rock band, while staying active with tennis, golf, and ice hockey. Also enjoys high‑adrenaline pursuits such as motorcycle racing, jet skiing, and boating.
Rick Duffin

Rick has nearly three decades of experience fighting for his clients’ rights. Rick began his legal career working for an Illinois Appellate Court Judge, where he assisted authoring decisions in 50+ complex cases. From there, Rick honed his skills working for two of Chicago's largest, premiere law firms before starting his own law firm.
Over the years, Rick has worked on some of the largest and most significant personal injury and commercial litigation matters. Following the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center, Rick worked with clients to recover tens of millions of dollars in insurance proceeds for property damage at the World Trade Center.
In 2023, Rick was instrumental in securing the largest trucking injury recovery in Will County history ($10 Million) following three years of intensive litigation with the at-fault driver’s (a corporation) insurance lawyer.
In addition to his wealth of litigation experience, Rick also has significant experience representing corporations and individuals in all facets of corporate and real estate law. Over the decades, Rick has worked as outside counsel to publicly traded corporations, privately held corporations, limited liability companies, start-up businesses and not-for-profit corporations. Rick is currently outside general counsel to a start-up battery company in Chicago that recently secured $50M in series-A funding. Many corporations, wealthy investors and individuals regularly look to Rick for expert legal and business advice. Rick knows the law, he knows how to negotiate, and he knows how to win.
